Ingredients
1 ampalaya (bitter gourd), sliced
150 grams beef sirloin, sliced into strips
1 onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, crushed or minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon rice wine
ground pepper, as desired
How to cook ampalaya con carne (beef ampalaya)
- Soak ampalaya in brine solution for 10 minutes. Rinse and blanch it afterwards then set aside.
- In a bowl, combine beef, soy sauce, pepper and rice wine. Marinate for about 30 minutes.
- In a pan, stir fry marinated beef strips until done then put the beef aside.
- In the same pan, sauté onion and garlic and pour in the marinade sauce.
- Add in blanched ampalaya and stir fry for 3 more minutes.
