Cherry Overnight Oats
Cherry Overnight Oats

Overnight oats, a no-cook oatmeal, is my frequent breakfast recently. I first had a taste of overnight oats when I tried Salad Stop's strawberry banana muesli. It's good but kind of pricey so I researched how overnight oats are being done. Overtime, I learned to mix and match my overnight oats with whatever fruit or veggie is in season so I won't get tired of it. Below are my overnight oats recipes.

Ingredients

1/2 cup of rolled oats with dried berries
1 tbsp chia seeds (you may use flaxseeds)
1 cup of almond milk (can be replaced with fresh milk or soy milk, depending on your preference)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 tbsp Greek yogurt (can be replaced with flavored yogurt)
2 tsp sliced almonds

How to make overnight oats

1. Place oats, chia seeds, cinnamon, yogurt and 1 teaspoon of almonds in a mason jar or any container with lid.
2. Pour in almond milk and mixed thoroughly.
3. Place it in the fridge overnight.

That's it, you have your base overnight oats for breakfast. This yields to 2 servings, 3 if you add more fresh fruits. I normally don't add fruits/or veggies to soak overnight as I want my fruits fresh so I only add the fruit before serving.
