Milk Tea Craze | Macau Imperial's Cheesecake and Pearl Milk Tea

Macau Imperial's Cheesecake and Pearl Milk Tea - 140 Php

Every time I passed by Macau Imperial Tea in SM's North Tower, there is this long queue of people waiting. I've never passed by it without a queue, probably more so because it's early evening of a Saturday, just after the anticipated mass in Our Lady of Hope Parish. The long line made me so curious I asked friends if they have tried Macau Imperial tea already. One of them said yes and told me theirs is one of the best milk tea in town. I'm no milk tea person but it seems like milk tea is the new craze in town, so one Saturday, I decided to give Macau Imperial milk tea a try.

As usual, there is a long queue of people waiting their turns to be served. I waited around 20 minutes I think, before my order was taken, and another 20 or so minutes for my milk tea to be served. I ordered cheesecake and pearl milk tea, as recommended by my friend.

By the way, Macau Imperial Tea originated, obviously as the name suggests, from Macau. It first arrived here in the Philippines around 2017 and now has several branches nationwide. One of their best seller is cheesecake and pearl milk tea priced at 120 Php for the regular size and 140 Php for the large one. It's a combination of brewed tea, salted cream cheese, pearls and sweetener, of course.

So how's my milk tea? It's strong! The tea is quite strong for my liking, even if I tried to stir and mix it up so that the ingredients would blend. But I love the creamy taste of salted cream cheese and the chewiness of the pearls. Had it not for this strong tea taste, Macau Imperial Tea would be my number one choice for milk tea. Hmm, maybe I'll try to request to tone it down a bit the next time. What do you think?
